In southern Moldova, one of the largest grain storage facilities in the area — operated by ORIZONTUL-LUX — is now fully equipped with KMZ Industries grain handling equipment, including:
• four flat-bottom silos with a total capacity of 10,000 tons;
• four hopper silos (one designed for truck loading) with a combined capacity of 1,100 tons;
• a Brice-Baker grain dryer featuring a dust suppression system;
• a complete automation system.
The dryer runs on natural gas, which is the most efficient solution under local operating conditions. It ensures high-performance drying of corn, wheat, and sunflower seeds.
Installation of the silos and main structures was carried out by the client’s own construction team, as construction is the company’s primary field of activity. All works were performed under the technical supervision of KMZ Industries’ installation engineers. The automation system installation, software configuration, and commissioning were handled by Ukrainian specialists from KMZ Industries.
“Construction of the complex began in early 2022, and by the summer of 2023, the grain storage facility was fully operational. The entire project was completed in a single phase. Despite the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, the company fulfilled all its obligations on time — a clear testament to the stability of our production and the reliability of our supply chain,” noted Maksim Semenko, the export manager of KMZ Industries.
The new ORIZONTUL-LUX grain complex has become one of the largest grain infrastructure projects in southern Moldova, reaffirming that KMZ Industries’ engineering solutions remain highly competitive and in demand on the international market.
