Temporary grain storage

Temporary storage is a fast, efficient and cost-effective way to increase your storage capacity.

• require minimal time for installation;
• can be reused in any other location;
• does not require any special foundation;
• does not require project documentation.

KMZ Industries produces two types of temporary storage – ring and modular.

Ring type

Wall sheets are made with standard panels same as used at KMZ Industries grain silos. For the roof is used PVC awning with 650 g/m² density.  It can be applied at the temperature range from -30 °C to +70 °C.

Technical specification and advantages of ring-type storage:

• diameter from 14.7 m to 24 m;
• capacity from 380 to 1,300 m³;
• installation time up to 7 days;
• assembling and dismantling do not require the involvement of specialized assembly teams.

Modular type

Wall sheets are made with standard grain silo panels without perforation. It allows storing small crops, for example, rapeseed. Moreover, sheets without perforation prevent from ingress of moisture inside the storage through the retaining wall. Modular type storage consists of separate modules, so they can be assembled into a structure of any shape: rectangle, oval, or circle (minimum diameter 30 m).

Technical specification and advantages of modular type storage:

• capacity from 2,500 to 6,400 m³;
• the minimum cost of the solution is 11 euros/1t;
• PVC awning is used for a roof;
• possibility of partial loading/unloading the storage.

Both types of temporary storage can optionally be equipped with thermometry sensors and a ventilation system.

Loading and unloading the temporary storage

A bucket loader is required to unload the product from the temporary storage.

To load temporary storage with a diameter of up to 18.3 m, you can use:

• 18.5 m long screw conveyor and hopper (for example, like this);
• or 22 m long belt conveyor and hopper (for example, like this).

For loading ring-type storage with a diameter bigger than 18.3 m and modular type, storage should be used only belt conveyor with lengths from 22 m.
