Minus 15% Moisture in One Pass: KMZ Industries Introduced the New Brice-Baker Grain Dryer

The new Brice-Baker Series 36 grain dryer by KMZ Industries is capable of removing over 15% moisture in a single pass while maintaining excellent grain quality even under intensive drying conditions. The dryer is designed primarily for corn, a crop that requires a longer residence time in the drying column to ensure uniform heating.

This solution has become especially relevant this season: due to weather conditions, corn is coming from the fields with higher moisture levels, and existing drying capacities across the market are operating at their limits.

“We designed this grain dryer specifically for corn — for operations with a throughput capacity of 20 to 35 tons per hour. Its key feature is the increased column height, which gives the grain more time for heating and mixing without overheating,” explained Oleksandr Tkachenko, Head of Technical Support and Product Marketing at KMZ Industries.

The new model is equipped with an aspirator at the inlet, which removes dust before the grain enters the drying column. This helps reduce internal dust accumulation and lower emissions to the environment. Additionally, engineers have provided the option to install a pre-clean grain scalperator directly on the dryer.

“It’s a practical solution — there’s no need for additional supporting structures or a separate bucket elevator to feed the grain. The product goes straight into the dryer through the scalperator, which reduces installation costs and simplifies assembly,” added Tkachenko.

Customers already operating the new Brice-Baker grain dryer consistently achieve 10–15% moisture reduction per pass without compromising grain quality. This performance is ensured by the increased drying column height and an optimized hot air distribution system. In terms of airflow per ton of product, Brice-Baker dryers offer one of the best performance indicators on the market.
