Over the past 8–9 years, Ukraine’s grain storage equipment market has undergone a radical transformation.
In 2016, domestic equipment made up only 20% of the market, with imported machinery dominating at 80%. But by 2025, the trend has completely reversed in key product segments.
“Ukrainian farmers have gradually re-evaluated their approach to choosing suppliers: they tested locally made equipment and found that it not only matches imported products in quality but also offers a range of important advantages. These include accessible service, climate-specific design, deep understanding of the local context, and the manufacturer’s ability to work alongside the client even under wartime conditions,” – explains Nataliia Kulakovska, Marketing Director at KMZ Industries.
She notes that the government’s program offering partial compensation of 25% for domestically manufactured equipment played a major role in this market shift, enabling many agricultural producers to “try local.” And after that first experience, most didn’t return to imported grain storage solutions.
“According to independent research, in 2024, Ukrainian-made conveying equipment for grain storage facilities accounted for 48.8% of the market in monetary terms. When it comes to metal silos, the growth is even more significant: domestic manufacturers held a commanding 81.4% market share. These numbers are more than just statistics — they reflect the growing trust in Ukrainian-made equipment and its ability to meet the modern needs of grain producers and processors,” – adds Nataliia Kulakovska.
