KMZ Industries participated in the UKRAINIAN LIVESTOCK SUMMIT 2024, which took place on October 11 in Kyiv and gathered participants from Ukraine’s livestock business, including poultry, cattle, swine, and feed production sectors.
According to the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, livestock accounts for approximately 35% of total agricultural production in Ukraine. At KMZ Industries, we are witnessing a growing demand for our domestically produced equipment, which helps to ensure more efficient operations in the livestock industry. Our clients range from small farms engaged in poultry, swine, sheep, and cattle raising, as well as dairy farms, to large meat and dairy processing complexes with integrated production systems.
“Among agribusinesses involved in livestock farming, our rectangular feed storage bunkers are particularly relevant. Their advantage lies in the minimal space required per ton of storage, which is crucial for installation within production facilities. Additionally, livestock producers are interested in round silos with pneumatic loading, as these silos do not require additional equipment or structures for loading, which is especially important for feed delivery to livestock facilities. Farmers are forced to optimize their operations to make them more profitable. Understanding their needs, we are working on developing solutions, often custom-made, that are tailored to specific production needs”, – said Oleksandr Tkachenko, Head of Technical Support and Product Marketing at KMZ Industries.
As for the challenges facing the livestock sector participants, particularly those caused by the ongoing military actions in our country, businesses during the UKRAINIAN LIVESTOCK SUMMIT mentioned the following issues:
– Labor availability, specifically the shortage of both general workers and specialized professionals,
– Energy instability,
– Security concerns due to the spread of African swine fever.
All of this creates a chain reaction and leads to issues with feed supply, processing, and the sale of livestock products, as well as logistics, making certain livestock segments unprofitable.
What is business doing? It’s evolving despite all the challenges.
Companies are optimizing their operations by automating as many processes as possible, installing solar panels and additional energy sources.
They are improving livestock production efficiency by finding and implementing tools to reduce product costs.
They are establishing integrated production systems to grow, store, and process grain into feed, and use it for livestock on their own farms.
This spirit of adaptation and transformation in the livestock market motivates us to grow alongside them.
And even better – to stay ahead by developing customized solutions for grain storage, processing, and transportation, which KMZ Industries continuously strives to do!
